How the Daily Works

There is one daily 6×6 puzzle, and everyone gets the same board. A new one starts each day on US Eastern time. The difficulty follows the week. Monday is a medium board with about 14 clues that you can finish by scanning boxes alone. Each day after takes a clue or so away, and by Saturday and Sunday the board is hard, with 10 clues, and some weekends you will need to scan a row or column as well as the boxes. No daily ever needs pencil marks or guessing.

Solve it and your streak goes up by one. Solve the next day's and it keeps growing; miss a day and it starts again. Only the daily board counts toward the streak, and your streak and daily best time are saved in your browser, with no account. A Few Tips

  • Pick a digit and look for a box where it fits in only one cell. That is the fastest win.
  • When the boxes run dry, ask the same question of a row or a column. Weekend boards need it.
  • Tap a hint if you stall. The streak still counts.
  • Share your time with friends if you’re feeling competitive.
